Alabama Self-Insured (ASI), most commonly referred to as THE FUND, has launched a mobile app for its members and brokers. The app, ASIWCF, was created out of the desire to create safer work environments and reduce injuries for its members and to have safety resources easily available at the touch of a finger.

“We are always trying to make a positive difference in the lives of our employers and their employees,” said Loren Traylor, Director of Program Development. “We asked ourselves, what could we do to make it easier for our members to keep their employees safe? The answer: having access to safety talks, claims information, and immediately being able to notify supervisors about injuries. We believe this app will have a significant impact on increasing ease and safety for employees.”

The app is centered around three key areas: claims reporting, injury notifications, and safety training resources. Phone, video streaming and email services are all connected through a single location, allowing employees to instantly connect with the appropriate support they need. It works to contribute to greater ease and overall safety within the lives of employees and creates a proactive safety environment.

Additionally, the app has a full library of safety training programs and guides, including: How to Conduct a Safety Meeting, Back Injury Prevention Tips, Dangers of Excessive Sitting, Machine Safeguarding Basics, and more than 50 others. There is also a technical resource guide that provides sample safety policies, plans and procedures that can be used to create a comprehensive safety program.

After listening to our clients, THE FUND realized that an app was the perfect way for it to quickly get safety information and the other available resources they offered to our members in order for them to create safer work environments for their employees,” said Jay Reed, Fund member and president of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Alabama Chapter. “We are excited that this tool was developed so soon after our partnership was created, and we are now able to offer this cutting-edge tool not only to ABC members but to all FUND members.”
